• Responsible for and establishment of the Department of Microbiology, with its 120+ employees with six heads of units, when the The Public Health Agency of Sweden was formed in 2014 and up until November 2021 when taking on the role as DG.
• Has lead the development of a strategy for the transformation of the technologies at the Department from mainly morphological to molecular with next generation sequencing (NGS) as the standard technique.
• Lead the development and establishment of a project model at the Department in order to achieve strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Lead the development of SLIM (Swedish Laboratory network In Microbiology) with formal agreements for cooperation with the 21 Regions in Sweden (established in 1 February 2017).
• Lead and navigated the Department during the Covid-19 pandemic and developed and implemented a national SARS-CoV-2 testing strategy to support the regional clinical microbiological laboratories and several systems for rapid sequencing and visualization of results.
• Lead the development of increased laboratory security at the high containment laboratory which is the only BSL-4 laboratory in the Scandinavian and Baltic Sea area.
• Lead the development of the Agencies facilities including transformation to an activity based work environment.

• Responsible for heading a unit of 27 coworkers with the remit to perform national surveillance of antibiotic resistance, monitoring of antibiotic use, development of national stewardship for antibiotic use and infection control and perform microbiological analyses for microbial surveillance of resistance mechanisms.

• As a specialist physician in Clinical bacteriology with a strong record in research in bacterial genetics and work with antibiotic resistance I was medically responsible for all the clinical microbiological analyses in the area that was performed at the Institute and was responsible in the dialogue with the referring physicians.
• Regularly reviewed relevant literature to stay up-to-date on emerging trends, treatments, and technologies within the field of AMR and IC.
• Presented results of the national surveillance at national conferences and meetings.
• Enhanced team collaboration with regular support and interdisciplinary meetings with the other group members
