  • Master Thesis: Modelling the Cost Effectiveness of Facilitated Physical Activity in the Reduction of Asthma Exacerbations caused by Comorbidities – Umea University, 2022 I based relevance of my study to the persistent burden of asthma exacerbations that are one of the contributing factors to the reduction of quality of life and economic burden to individuals, families, and health systems globally
  • My economic evaluation found physical activities as a cost effective (€0.4 more QALY gained/patient), in reducing the progress and prevention of comorbidities that worsen asthma conditions. During my literature search, I found this study to be first study to carry out such an economic evaluation. I got a distinction for this study, which resulted in me giving my consent to public health agency in Västerbotten county for this to be used for the development of new public health strategies in the primary prevention of asthma exacerbations hence improving quality of life and create ground for further research.
  • This experience equipped me with health economic modeling skills using Markov models, extraction, developing approaches to data analysis, enhance my knowledge in Microsoft excel and report writing.
  • Quickly learned new skills and applied them to daily tasks, improving efficiency and productivity.

  • Addressing the plight of teenage girls through education and hands on skills
  • I supported planning and coordination of all programs and associated activities.
  • I did this by developing youth led programs in line with our goals, developing and coordinating implementation plans.
  • I carried out project evaluations and community dialogues with the the community members at different levels.
  • Built robust professional relationships with partner organizations by maintaining communication and delivering targeted solutions to boost efficiency, minimize discrepancies and strengthen resource mobilization.

  • I spearheaded enrollment of 700 girls to the program within one year, and close on 40% enrolled back into school and the program reduced school dropout rates by 15%. This drastically reduced child marriages in Zombo, The projects further improved menstrual hygiene and reduced menstrual stigma among adolescent girls. This facilitated economic empowerment of girls and women in the Zombo communities.

  • Researching in the Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent health program (RMNCAH), carrying out an end-line evaluation
  • To coordinate the districts'-assigned teams to ensure availability of the tools, daily targets are met and giving daily assessments and feedback to the team through daily debriefs.

  • I collaborated with colleagues to develop community entry strategies to meet the challenging and changing attitudes of the local community towards family planning use and perceived government agenda

  • I reviewed family planning utilization rates in each district, through interviews among health workers to assess their knowledge and skills on family planning service delivery

  • The results from this study were used to develop the new 2018-2022 family planning costed implementation plan
  • This experience equipped me with skills to be able to delve into processes to acquire data that can enable me breakthrough process in any tasks presented.

  • I spearheaded the development and implementation of different projects among disadvantaged communities for example the“Tupambane project” aimed at youth economic development to reduce poverty Kamwokya suburb in Kampala

  • Aligned Association objectives with the mission, community health strengthening, improving health literacy and education, developing integrated strategies and building partnerships for health.

  • I collaborated with community leaders to develop implementation strategies for community goodwill programs like cleaning, awareness, and health weeks to promote health literacy, good sanitation, and proper waste disposal
  • Through this association, youths from disadvantaged communities gained sustainable economic empowerment through vocational training that enabled them to start up small scale economic activities using available resources, with significant empowerment of financial autonomy among teenage mothers. Out of the 80 participants enrolled, 60% (48) were teenage mothers. This resulted into reduction of alcohol and drug abuse too
  • This experience equipped me with project development and management, people management, critical thinking, planning, budgeting, implementation, stakeholder analysis and monitoring and evaluation skills which will be valuable for me to be able to take on similar tasks.
