  • My current work focuses on identification and functional characterization of lncRNAs in cancer development
  • The main aim is to identify mitotic specific cancer related long noncoding RNAs, which would be used as a therapeutic target (to design and develop antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) therapy for cancer)
  • Tools and methodology: Cell and Molecular biology, Biochemical methods, High resolution/high content microscopy, transcriptomics (NGS), proteomics, and drug design approaches
  • Project Role: I lead two lab projects with small teams and collaborate as a team member on other projects
  • My role is to design and develop various assays including in-vitro cell biological functional/phenotypic screening, identification and validations of ASO targets, RNA/protein half-life or stability assays, RNA sequencing data analysis (NGS), enrichment and pathway analysis, CRISPR mediated gene activation, inhibition and RNA tagging, CRISPR clonal cell line generation, biochemical assays including identification of RNA-RNA, RNA-Protein complexes using modern imaging with molecular biology techniques, and to design and develop antisense oligonucleotides after in-vivo/in-vitro functional characterization in collaboration with Flamingo Therapeutics
