Summary

I am a motivated, confident and approachable student, evident through the high GCSE results achieved. I am diligent and focused at college and I wish to apply these qualities in a work environment. I am a well rounded student, however my favourite academic subject is English Literature as my strengths lie in problem solving through creative thinking and the ability to see things from others' perspectives which I believe would be beneficial in customer facing roles.

My work experience has developed certain skills such as time management, responsibility, communication within a team and decision making.

In my spare time my other interest are reading, travelling and attending music events.

Work History

Cricket Scorer

Woodlands Cricket Club
Bradford, West Yorkshire
03.2021 - Current
  • In order to become a scorer I attended a two day course at the start to understand the rules of cricket and then how the rules were recorded within the scoring system. The scoring system is now completed on line as well as managing the electronic score board at the ground.
  • Interaction with a team of eleven who were all significantly older than myself, I needed to know who all the players were to make sure individual performances were correctly documented, regular changes of team members had to be kept up with.
  • Worked well with other scorers with some being less experienced, helping where I could.
  • Now a valued part of the team with strong relationships formed.
  • I also help with the teas prepared for the players during the games and also prepare and sell food to the spectators. Managed the cash float for the food section and the bar section making sure the till balanced at the end of the day.
  • Most recently I have worked behind the bar of an evening when events were held by the club.

  • During annual dance performances assisted with the young dancers making sure they were chaperoned to and from the stage whilst making sure their make up and costumes were all on and ready for the next dance. I also entertained the children during the performance when they weren't on stage

  • Innovative thinking, events were held at the cricket club to try and raise money for the club, I was involved in coming up with ideas to raise funds for all ages to enjoy
  • Mathematical accuracy, as a scorer I had to make sure all the scores were correct as well as making sure all the rules were followed and how the rules effected the scores, the players are very passionate about there performance so it needed to be correct
  • Situational awareness, cricket is a passionate game and the team were in a professional league, at times this meant emotions ran high, I needed to understand how people felt and how to deal with issues
