  • Mini-MIPS is a 32-bit RISC with a true subset of MIPS instruction set.
  • Instructions included conditional and non-conditional branches, arithmetic and logic operations, jump and jump and link, and store and load operations.
  • ALU included multiplication unit. Separate instruction and data memories, 5-stage pipeline, register forwarding unit, delayed branches, and delayed load.
  • Developed in a 65 nm technology with synthesis constraints on speed and area.
  • Implementation included all RTL design flow; the requirement specifications, ASMD description, Synthesizable HDL specification, synthesis, PnR, post
    RTL/synthesis/layout simulation, and FPGA verification.
