• Hardware selection for exhaust after treatment system for EUVII.
• Preparing test methodology of exhaust after treatment system (EATS) for engine lab.
• Performing screening of different volumes and specifications of DOC, DPF and SCR/ASC for on road commercial application engines.
• Data analysis and interpretation.
• Global interactions within volvo group.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Engine hardware screening and selection and optimization for the target application
• Building strategies for base engine combustion optimization of engine out emissions, After Treatment System thermal management and customer fuel efficiency targets.
• Transient calibration to attain target load response and smoke limitation.
• Non-Standard Engine Calibration for component protection.
• Air Path Modelling, Torque Path Modelling, Engine and Emission Modelling, ET Calibration.
• Hands on experience on DPF and SCR Calibration for emission cycle optimization, DEF consumption and adaptation functions.
• Data analysis and interpretation, report preparation and presentation to customer.

Calibration Tools:

1, AVL Concerto - Used extensively for data analysis and reports.
2. AVL Cameo - Used for DOE preparation and Engine optimization.
3. AVL CRETA - Used for dataset management
4. ETAS INCA - tool to communicate with ECU
5. AVL INDICOM - Used for combustion analysis.

Roles and responsibilities includes:

• Engine assembly of medium and heavy duty applications.
• Conducting performance and emission test as per type approval procedure.
• Coordination with certification authority and preparation of technical documents for type approval and CoP.
• Participation in Conformation of products (CoP) trials at certification agency.
• Data analysis.
• Engine validation and verification through durability run.
• Looking into field issues of customer and new engine variants.
