Coupled with my keen commercial acuity, I strive to find ways of making Talent a significant competitive advantage and enabler for achieving aspirational and functional goals. I intuitively see organisations from a people perspective and am passionate about crafting and moulding people solutions that unlock the maximum potential of a business. I have worked for some of Africa’s most respected and successful businesses (SABMiller, Dimension Data and Adcorp Holdings), plus having 11+ years’ experience working in/with European operations (Saint-Gobain). I gravitate towards driving operational efficiency and innovation, underpinned always with improving user experience. I seek out and thrive in environments that require bold and creative thinking and put people at the heart of their strategic priorities. My next goal is to take full ownership of a Talent agenda across one of the world’s most aspirational multinationals.

Talent Acquisition

  • 20 years’ experience of translating business goals and strategic priorities into practical, actionable deliverables – from Workforce Planning to Supply Chain optimisation, to the Digital Transformation Talent teams and functions.

  • Lead a commercial turnaround for the largest Recruitment Outsourcing company in Africa, culminating in the amalgamation of 5 businesses into 1 consolidated profitable trading entity. Oversee and manage a team of 350 permanent employees across 9 geographical locations, and multiple client sites, with full financial accountability for USD 100m (R1.5m Billion) annually. Run Africa’s only Resourcing Managed Service Provider (MSP) responsible for over 3000 senior professionals, via over 200 vendor partners.
  • Achievements:
  • Launched the first low-cost Subscription-based Recruitment offering to the African market.

REGIONAL HEAD OF TALENT ACQUISITION / ACTING HEAD OF TALENT MANAGEMENT (COVERING MATERNITY)

SAINT-GOBAIN (SOUTHERN AFRICA)

  • Established a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for African operations with regards to Talent Acquisition. Directly managed a team of 5 individuals tasked with supporting the expansion of operations across Angola, Ivory Coast, Namibia, Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Pioneered the introduction of a fully customised ATS Talentlink, supported by a cost-saving reengineered vendor supply chain. Championed transformation agenda across demographics and gender in line with Group policy and acted in the capacity of the Talent Manager covering for maternity leave of a colleague.

  • Employed on a 1-year assignment in London to align Global recruitment operations and prepare for the absorption into the NTT International business. Designed the global Recruitment Policy for Workday customisation and rollout across 30 000 employees. Worked closely with marketing to leverage the Tour de France sponsorship, from an Employer Branding perspective with great success. Project managed the launch of a new Shared Service in Prague to house European Customer Service agents. Revised global vendor agreements with existing and new suppliers to generate USD 1m annual savings through the Recruitment channel. Restructured the global reporting lines of Talent Acquisition, and successfully introduced a multi-year Skills repurposing initiative to fundamentally change the make-up of the organisation’s Skills composition.

  • Managed the integration of SAB (South Africa) into SABMiller (Africa) from a Talent Acquisition perspective, ensuring Regional alignment of Recruitment Operations and Ways of Working. Led a team of 10 Specialists and Managers in managing arguably South African’s finest Talent Acquisition team.
  • Achievements:
  • Successfully led an award-winning Employer Branding campaign titled “Brewing the Best” for Graduate Recruitment and won multiple industry awards as an Employer of Choice and most Admired Employer.
  • Managed to reduce agency 3rd spend to 2%, generating over USD 1m of additional savings through cost avoidance.
