Head of IBD department.
Leading role: varies from building and creating local routines and guidelines, conducting regular meetings, teaching, coaching, and supporting everybody in the team to achieve his/her and our goals.
Clinical role: regular advanced endoscopic procedures, management of patients with diverse gastroenterological health issues like IBD, liver disease, neurogastro/motility disorders, pancreas disease, etc. Working as a team with gastro nurses, psychologists, dietitians, and physiotherapists. This even includes MDT conferences with GI surgeons and radiologists

Clinical responsibilities: Onsite and remote patient contact and care, outpatient clinics, endoscopy lists (emergency and elective), ward commitments including inpatient reviews and inreach, gastroenterology ward rounds with a capacity of 16 patients with advanced gastroenterological diseases, and serving as an on-call senior physician.
A comprehensive GI training program comprising two distinct fellowships at the largest transplantation center, focusing on intestinal and liver transplantation, alongside rotations as an internal medicine
Leadership and communication
Gastroenterologist: Proficient in diagnostic and interventional endoscopy, having performed over 4000 procedures. Cold and hot polypectomy, including large flat polyps, endoscopic esophageal and GI dilations, diathermy procedures, variceal ligation, capsule enteroscopy for both small and large intestine, and stenting for cancer.
Physician: Certified in Advanced Life Support (ALS), proficient in both elective and emergency direct current (DC) cardioversion. Experienced in lumbar puncture, pleural/ascitic fluid aspiration, bone marrow aspiration, and ultrasound procedures following the FAST protocol.
Proudly established a new modern gastroenterology department in a remote hospital in northern Sweden and educated a nurse midwife to be a specialist gastroenterology nurse who is now taking care of patients regularly with my support remotely (via telecommunication).
