Alexander Buckard

As part of my internship, I contributed to the development of a mobile application for football training. I was involved throughout the entire process — from concept development and design discussions to programming and testing.

The app was built using React Native and AWS, and its purpose was to generate personalized training programs based on advanced physical test results. I worked on both the frontend and backend, and also held a coordinating role within the intern team. I led day-to-day development tasks, delegated responsibilities, and ensured the project stayed on track.

Additionally, I worked closely with the company’s CEO, which required me to clearly communicate technical decisions and solutions in an accessible way.

I spent the majority of my professional career managing our family business, Buckards Båtar — a company specializing in the import, refurbishment, and sale of large motorboats from the Mediterranean. Over the years, my responsibilities evolved and included:

• Managing temporary staff, such as marine mechanics and logistics providers
• Handling sales and procurement, with individual boat prices ranging from SEK 400,000 to 2.3 million
• Overseeing marketing and external communications, including website and social media management
• Developing a new product line of illuminated boat nameplates using Adobe Illustrator
• Performing boat detailing and ensuring quality control before final delivery to customers

Worked with direct sales of TV and broadband services to private customers. Responsibilities included identifying customer needs, presenting suitable service packages, and closing sales in a fast-paced retail environment.
